Recycling

Recycling is one of the best – and actually one of the easiest – ways for us to have a positive impact on the environment and ultimately extend the life of the planet that sustains us.

At C&M, we’re very aware of how important effective recycling is and we endeavour to take care of all of your recycling needs, enabling you to minimise your waste, meet your legal obligations and lessen the impact of your waste on the environment. Equally importantly, we also streamline and improve all of your current recycling practices and processes, ultimately saving you money.

A large part of what we do involves improving your recycling rates for a wide range of materials, including but not limited to the following:

  • Paper
  • Cardboard
  • Wood
  • Plasterboard
  • Plastic
  • Glass
  • Metal
  • Green, organic waste
  • WEEE
(electrical and electronic equipment such as household appliances, telecommunications equipment and fluorescent tubes)
  • Gypsum
  • Aggregates

If you have anything that doesn’t appear on this list, rest assured we will still be able to take care of it. It is a source of some considerable pride to us that whatever challenge your waste poses, we will be able to meet it.

Why is recycling important?

The amount of waste we produce is increasing constantly and, at the same time, our landfill sites are filling up quickly. Also, whether full or not, landfill sites produce harmful chemicals and greenhouse gases, which create ever more pollution. Recycling therefore, helps to reduce these levels of pollution drastically.

Another major advantage of recycling is that it reduces the need for raw materials, meaning that rainforests can be preserved. This in turn means that the effects of deforestation, such as habitat destruction and global warming, can be lessened. Recycling also requires far less energy and is far less expensive than making products from raw materials.

At C&M, we are always looking to increase the recycling rates of all of our clients, and we produce bespoke reports on our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software that clearly monitor the improvements we make.
